Amma & Annu :)

The word “AMMA” has so much meaning to it, that it just cannot be described in wordsย & can only be felt. In the same way, “ANNU” is also that word which gives you that proud feeling and also yes some fear too ๐Ÿ˜‰ย  Everyone will agree with me on this. ๐Ÿ™‚

Today being ‘Mother’s Day’, I felt about dedicating this post specially for you AMMA ๐Ÿ™‚

Tickets are booked, my brother exclaimed!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ My joy knew no bounds. A dream come true after 4 years and finally parents and brother were coming down to Singapore for couple of weeks ๐Ÿ™‚

Ever since I moved to SG, I always wanted to get my parents and brother to experience the beauty & awesomeness of this counrty. Something or the other always came in between and this trip never became a reality. Excitement was super high and their travel was approaching fast. It was my parents first ever international travel and having them here was just about the amazing feeling that I could get. Mugdha too was on her heels and counting days to 27th January ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 1: 27th January, 2017

Final few information on call before they boarded the flight and then they were off. We could not wait for the clock to tick 6pm ๐Ÿ™‚ Wifey had prepared welcome boards for parents as well as Mannu Bannu ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, that what she calls him ๐Ÿ˜€

img_20170127_174711img_20170127_174639

Then we see them walking out. That Feeling!! Cannot express and I guess it is one of those moments that I will cherish through out my life. Seeing them all smiles and they seeing us all smiles – ๐Ÿ™‚

This day was so so long! We spoke spoke and spoke as if there was no tomorrow. The happiness wasn’t sinking in, it still is not even after almost 2 weeks of they coming down. It was truly amazing. It was almost 2 when we actually thought it was a nice idea to sleep ๐Ÿ˜€

Day 2: 28th January, 2017

The iconic Marina Bay Sands was planned right before anything else. That “WOW” feeling which one gets watching the boat on top of 3 huge towers, that makes the SG trip complete ๐Ÿ™‚

img_20170128_162332 img_20170128_163117Merlion welcomed them by showering water from its mouth ๐Ÿ˜‰

Even though rains spoilt most of our evening, we made it count with a back up plan and headed out towards Suntec City mall with those amazingly huge showrooms with a hell lot on display. Fountain of wealth added on to the list with beautiful evening by the fountain which was truly wonderful experience. Dad was fascinated with those sexy cars on display with Lamborgini and Ferrari taking him off his foot ๐Ÿ™‚

img_20170128_175609

I am sure this was one day we walked walked and walked! So much. Trust me, now I realise that I should not have taken them around so much right on the first day. The excitement of being in SG drove them, but otherwise it was really a tiring day. Dad & wifey went for a huge walk around the Bedok reservoir park early morning. A round trip home, is approximately 7kms and with talks and lot of talks, they both had a very good walk and talk time ๐Ÿ™‚ This added on to their step-o-meter and by late evening, both of them were feeling each of their steps ๐Ÿ˜€

img_20170128_174414

Italian Gelato – something quite new and tasty which they loved. ๐Ÿ™‚ Always curious and ready to do something new, my parents were totally loving it here at SG.

Day 3: 29th January, 2017

Dad is a shoe freak and I am his son ๐Ÿ™‚ So I don’t need to explain more. We both went down for some ‘Shoe Shopping’ ๐Ÿ™‚

Nike it was! He was totally blown away with the amount of shoes on display and so with the price when compared to those in India. Just 2 shoes and he had already done his decision ๐Ÿ™‚ Quick and fast, we were out with a wide smile on his face with a big orange box in his hand ๐Ÿ™‚

img_20170129_121839

Showing him my current client place at Changi Business Park was a proud moment.

Sentosa!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Complete 2nd half dedicated solely to this amazing place. Started off with a trip on the monorail. First time experience for parents, brother as well as my wife. Even though she is in SG for the past 6 months, we did not visit the most important tourist attractions – Sentosa. So all in all, everyone were excited.

Cable car ride was thrilling. This was an internal cable car, which took us from Imbiah Station all the way till the Siloso Beach and back. To our left, it was completely sea shore with those huge ships with containers docked up. To our right we had the amazing Singapore city. It was truly mesmirizing.

Post the cable car ride, parents visited Madam Tussads as dad was so keen on meeting up with Narendra Modi ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, he is a huge fan and this visit to see his wax statue was worth it. His excitement is totally seen below:

Mannu, Mugdha and myself tried the skyline-luge! Luge is something very similar to Go-Kart with the only difference being, no accelerator here and this works only down the slope. Pull a bit and you are off with a little more pull applies the brakes. It is one awesome ride to experience. Go down the mountain via the luge and come up on the skyline. Skyline is similar to the cable car but an open one ๐Ÿ™‚ Its totally worth it.

img_20170129_171413

Our 3rd attraction was supposed to be Sea Aquarium but due to time constraint we could not make it and hence visited the Tiger Tower. Over 20 storeys high and rotating a very slow speed, the view is absolutely magnificient. Even Malaysia can be seen from the top.

img_20170129_190641

The day ended with the absolutely brilliant and mind blowing lazer show – Wings of Time! All were floored by this one and their expression post the show said it all. An award winning show which captures everyones eyes. One cannot miss this show if you visit Sentosa Islands.

All in all an eventful day with lot of amazing things seen. Days were flying off and the happiness amongst us was just too hard to contain.

Day 4: 30th January, 2017

As it was Chineese New Year weekend, me and Mugdha both had a long weekend and it was good time for parents to come down. Fort Canning Park and Clarke Quay were on the cards.

img_20170130_173046Rains spoilt the evening with Fort Canning just did not happen. Getting wet in the rains was fun, but the overall site visit did not serve the purpose. Clarke Quay on the other hand was a silent but lovely experience. Due to rains, the crowd was less and as the evening progressed the rains drifted off. We enjoyed the lovely evening by the Boat Quay as well as the walk through those amazing restaurants across the river.

Commenting on the folks who enjoyed the reverse bungee jump was super fun! We were so much into it that we wanted the bungee to twist and turn multiple times just for us to feel the adrenaline ๐Ÿ˜› Poor people who rode the one during those multiple turns might have had hearts in their mouth ๐Ÿ˜€

img_20170130_182037When you do not get to roam around, sitting at a place and enjoying the beauty with your loved ones gives a different kind of happiness alltogether.

We visited one amazing restaurant, Annalakshmi – where by you eat as much as you like and also pay as much as you like. Yes! That’s their model with only vegeterian food on the menu. I must say, it was delicious. After the long walks that we did, it was full-filling. Ambience of the place and the warm welcome added on to it. There was this lady who looked like a newbee cooking those ‘Aapams’ and most of the one she prepared were undercooked. People were waiting for it and she in a hurry gave away the undercooked ones as well ๐Ÿ˜€ Mannu was at his best. He waited till all left, sat around with eye on the aapams and right when it was good, he would tell us to go and get it ๐Ÿ˜€ In that way, she was not pressurized and we did not get the undercooked ones ๐Ÿ™‚

img_20170130_155845All in all a good day to sign off.

Day 5: 31st January, 2017

5th and 6th day of their visit, I & wifey both had to return back to office. As Marina Bay Observation deck was not ticked off our list, we decided to visit in the evening. Luckily the rains took a break and the weather was perfect to enjoy the view atop 56th floor of Marina Bay Sands.

Parents, bro and wifey were awestruck from that amazing view of the skyline on one side and the garden view from the other. Even though my dad has the fear of heights, standing on top there, was he says is one of the best experiences he ever had in his life. So it was for mom and bro. Pics Pics and more pics followed before we sat down and enjoyed that amazing view. It just wasn’t sinking in for them.

A glimpse of “Infinity Pool” from one side of the deck and that was one more thing which is worth a visit. Only guests who stay at the hotel have access to the pool and hence this one is still pending for them as well as me ๐Ÿ™‚

By now, they were well versed with the MRT and bus routes around our place and just giving them the directions would suffice. :)you

Day 6: 1st February, 2017

A day off from travel and it was a couple of meetings scheduled for dad and brother with dinner at Ambica’s place. As usual, it was super fun to be around with the hosts – ‘The Kudva’s’ ๐Ÿ™‚ The lil kudva with his ‘bappa, bappa’ calls. Just love him more and even more every single time you meet. Away from India, parents were happy to meet Bavaji and Ambica and it felt like a family reunion they mentioned. Even though they had met only once earlier backย  in India, this was like a long family get together ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks to Bavaji & Ambica for making the evening memorable ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 7: 2nd February, 2017

It was shopping day! ๐Ÿ™‚ Shopping is so much fun, with parents around and buying stuffs for them is even more fun ๐Ÿ™‚

China Town is always the goto place in SG for souvenirs and the fridge magnets which usually are given as gifts. You cannot stop yourself from filling your basket. Such are the stuffs around there, for any shopping freak, it would definitely be worth a visit. As the name goes, the street just outside the MRT station is filled up quite a lot of shops with loads and loads of eye catching things.

We took off to Little India post China Town. Any Indian coming to SG, the visit is not complete without a visit to Little India and Mustaffa ๐Ÿ™‚ Name any Chocolates, they have it. Visiting such an enormous store which has every single thing that you would want in your life – from pin to gold ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, I am not joking, he does sell Gold as well. Worthy experience.

It was very kind of my boss to come down to little india to have dinner with my family. I really appreciate his care and concern, even after being my boss he did come over for dinner as a matter of respect towards my parents. Thanks boss ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 8: 3rd February, 2017

Again a rain spoilt evening at Gardens by the Bay, Singapore. My first ever visit to this amazing place (I know, staying is SG for so long and still the first trip ๐Ÿ˜› ) and I was spell bound at the way they have constructed this whole gardens just next to the bay. If not for the rains, it would definitely be even more fun filled. Not that we could not look into any of the attractions inside there. The ones we did visit were truly majestic, specially the Supertree Groove. GoPro really does wonders in capturing this amazing view in a single shot ๐Ÿ™‚

Mannu as usual is brilliant with his photography skills which is evident from his instagram page – www.instagram.com/mildwave . Some of his pictures were beyond amazing and the way he clicked those were also worth a watch ๐Ÿ˜›

img_20170203_1753122 umbrellas and 5 folks ๐Ÿ™‚ Umbrella Management was the key here ๐Ÿ˜€ With me and dad being the thinnest of the lot, we took one umbrella and the other 3, not so thinnest took one more ๐Ÿ˜› Drenched in the rains, this was an amazing walk down the gardens.

img_20170203_190520

There are quite a lot of things to cover here and I am going to have a full day dedicated to this place in the coming weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

With rains pouring down, wifey had something hot and yummy prepared – Onion Pakodas ๐Ÿ™‚ Absolutely yummy from wifey! The weather added flavor to it ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 9: 4th February, 2017

This was the best day I must say. All 5 at home, with no plans whatsoever ๐Ÿ™‚ Lots of games of cards which I won ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ (obvisously ๐Ÿ˜› ) and getting some handy tips from 2 big Chartered Accountants was worth every minute. A late evening visit to Bedok Reservoir Park summed up the day. Dad already was in awe of this place for its 5km jogging track around the reservoir which early morning has its own charm. The serene surrounding made the evening with family truly worth living. ๐Ÿ™‚ Cannot describe sometimes the feeling of having your loved ones around. Sometimes its sad that we all are not together every single day. I really and heartily want that day to come soon!

Some more shopping followed with a visit to the nearby huge mall. The superstore here called ‘Fair Price’ had a lot to offer as well ๐Ÿ™‚ We are always good at shopping ๐Ÿ˜€ It was a good day which ended me watching the Chelsea game on the huge screen at the Tampines Hub ๐Ÿ˜› Yes, Chelsea won by a comfortable scoreline.

Pani Puri time it was back at home. All sitting down, waiting for their share of Puris ๐Ÿ™‚ Ahaa, this added so much taste to the pani puri ๐Ÿ™‚ Finger licking good ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 10: 5th February, 2017

The feeling of having missed out on the ‘Sea Aquarium’ was too much to bear for me and I somehow managed to fit in one more day at Sentosa ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, dedicated to ‘Sea Aquarium’ and the lovely beaches. ๐Ÿ™‚

‘Sea Aquarium’ – one word for this experience is “SOOTHING”.

Getting to see so many underwater creatures, some of which we would not even imagine exists is wonderful. For aqua maniacs it is bliss. Sharks, Sting Rays, Fishes – tons of them. Its just wow ๐Ÿ™‚

Even though there is no scarcity for beaches back in Manipal for them, the Siloso beach here at Sentosa has its own charm. The lovely sunset with bunch of ships in the foreground makes the sunset worth watching ๐Ÿ™‚

Back home, it was yummy patholi time ๐Ÿ™‚ A konkani dish prepared with the jaggery and rice dough steamed with turmeric leaves ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Yummy!! Yes, my tummy is growing ๐Ÿ˜›

img_20170205_134322

Day 11: 6th February, 2017

The feeling had already started to kick in! Just one more day and they would be traveling back to India and I wanted the time to stop, rewind back 10 days and start playing in loops for ever.

Day 12: 7th February, 2017

9pm was their flight back to Bengaluru and since the previous day, eyes were moist, heart quite heavy. We all had such an amazing time and we dint want it to end. This feeling was mutual amongs all of us.

For dad, it was his long wish to travel abroad and away from his office chores, no phone calls as well, he was totally in a holiday mood. Amma on the other hand, hates travelling. Forget Singapore, she does not travel down to her mothers place Koteshwar which is hardly 30 mins from Manipal often. For her to come down, relax and spend quality time with her whole family and not feeling the tension which she usually does during travel which is something which made all of us super happy. Many more trips in the days to come for sure to SG ๐Ÿ™‚ Just love having her around. Finally, for brother, it was a cool vacation ๐Ÿ™‚ Enjoy till it lasts – his mantra. His one liners always a killer. As the day progresses, he gets into his groove and there is no arguing with him when it comes to his killer instincts. The atmosphere with him around just turns electric ๐Ÿ™‚

Dad always had his morning ‘SHOPPING’ walks ๐Ÿ˜€ Post morning tea, he would go around our neighbourhood and shop for something or the other. Fruits were on top priority with a couple of new items everyday and then it came to croceries, utensils and what not ๐Ÿ˜€ and guess what he even managed to bargain and get items from here ๐Ÿ™‚ Just can’t believe it ๐Ÿ™‚ Parents named Murugan stores as ‘Shanmugam’ ๐Ÿ˜› and the Tampines bus interchange as ‘Majestic’ ๐Ÿ˜€ I don’t think, we will ever call these by their right names ahead ๐Ÿ˜€

Wifey was at her super best, fully busy cooking and serving as many lovely yummy dishes as possible whenever she found time. Pizza’s, Patholi, Happla Peet, Meethi Parota, Brinjal Yennegai and the list goes on and on and on! Out of her excitement, she was confused as to what to do and what not to. Love her for everything she has done.

Overall, it was such an amazing trip that I cannot thank malshi enough for making this one a reality. A long long dream fulfilled ๐Ÿ™‚ Wishing many more of these to come at regular intervals ๐Ÿ™‚

Love you all!

Cheers,
Muki

New Year, New Beginnings!

2016 is here! I cannot use the word “FINALLY” as 2015 flew by so fast that, like a gush of a wind which blewย you down to 2016! A very late post, with January already ended and February mid way through, here I am finding that time to blog something ๐Ÿ™‚ Oh yes, Happy New Year folks ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, I won’t be talking about all of the 2015 beautiful memories but for one amazing thing which started in May,2015!

2015 had quite a busy schedule with one of our main products going through a major revamp and with side by side projects in fray, 24 hours in the day seemed less. As I was busy in my own world trying to learn things as well as fix the issues that I had added in the process of learning, my parents were planning on setting me up and getting me on the next level in lifeย ๐Ÿ™‚

Age is a just a numberย in ones life butย for parents there are certain responsibilities they need to fulfil at the right number and they feel some things needs to be done at the right age to have theย right effect ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, you read my mind here, marriage it was in question and almost since 2014 Octoberย theyย were quite willing to start off the Mega Hunt! May 2015, it was my cousins wedding and I was pretty sure for all the running around the bush that I did regarding marriage prior to this, I didn’t have another bush to run around and was supposed to answer when I go back home. It turned out as expected and I had to wave a green flag for the search.
Let me brief you how the Bride search happens in our Gowda Saraswat Brahmin community the traditional way!
  1. It is mainly by word of mouth that the news spreads that such and such a guy is eligible and is ready for marriage amongst the community folks. But withย Internetย and social media these days, there are few community websites where you can upload the details for the rest to see or rather portray about the girl or the boys current status. Mine wasn’tย uploadedย anywhere and we chose the traditional ‘word of mouth’ strategy – slow but always effective ๐Ÿ˜‰
  2. Girls parents usually contacts the boysย side for the horoscope and exchange of theย horoscope along withย probably the pictures takes place. Usually, these are shared via mails these days but if we go back not more than 10 years back, the girls parents used to visit the boysย side in person and hand over the horoscope in person.
  3. Post the horoscope exchange, the astrologer from each side matches the horoscope and based on his Green flag talks proceed.
  4. Once horoscope matches, parents from both sides decide upon the family and the respective girl/boy having a good character, job etc etc in other words, whether he/she is capable or not of entering the wedlock.
  5. Post which, the ball is in the boys/girls court with a meet being set up and then confirmation/rejection happens.

Mega Hunt:
I was in India during November for Dasara for a good 3 weeks but everything was silent. As my leaves was the primary concern for me, I wanted to settle something before I head back but not everything happens as you want it to be right. ๐Ÿ™‚

During my final week of stay or rather I can say it was 3 days until my flight back to Singapore whenย one of my mothers cousin called up stating her brothers daughter is working for TCS, Bangalore and they are willing to give the horoscope. The horoscope exchange happened with my photograph being mailed across and they sending her one. These days, astrologers are quite busy and with their schedule running very tight, it is very difficult to get their time. When all this was unfolding, I headed back and my normal life began here at SG.

No sooner did I comeย back, things kicked off in quite a good pace with developments happening day by day. I had a major project cut over during the month of November and I wanted to somehow push proceedings post the implementation and the warranty support so that I could think in peace ๐Ÿ™‚ but, things happened the other way. As I wanted to buy time, I asked for few more photographs which also came across within a couple of days leaving me with no choice but to continue with the flow. First look at the photograph and I messaged in our family group – “She is Pretty” ๐Ÿ™‚ and with my parents already having liked her and her family, the ball was in my court. I asked forย her number and I spoke to her toย set up a ‘Skype Call Date’ the following day. Was I excited? Yes, I was! I was in middle of an production implementation and hence the excitement died down quick.

November 28th, 12pm IST, I had set up a call with her and due to my over night implementation back at work, I woke up close to 11:55am IST ๐Ÿ™‚ afterย suddenlyย realizing that there was a call I managed to get some 15mins buffer afterย textingย her. She obliged with a smile ๐Ÿ™‚ The call eventually started at around 12:20pm approx which lasted for around an hour and 10 minutes. I did not meet her face-to-face but that skype call was enough for me to agree and wave the flag back. ๐Ÿ™‚ย What we spoke for an hour plus ten minutes is something that I would not like to disclose but it definitely was something that struck a chord and I was happy and smiling post the same. ๐Ÿ™‚ I guess she too was ๐Ÿ™‚ย Post that, I spoke to my mom and I did not have to say anything to her, she herself knew my answer ๐Ÿ™‚

I had an team outing that evening so I came back quite late that day. There was a logic that her and her sister hadย – If I messaged her that very day, it would meanย I wasย interested and have agreed and yes I did send her a picture of my team post the outing ๐Ÿ™‚ So, the logic was proved right ๐Ÿ™‚

Arranged marriage was something I always wondered as toย how it would even happen and go through during the initial stages of getting to know someone unknown and here I was experiencing the same. I used to ask my parents, specially mom about the experience she had when she initially met dad as during those days there were no mobiles, no messages and even calls were very less and expensive. We are lucky to be in the century where communication between any corner of the world is possible with even very less amount to pay for.

Thus began our initial round of whatsapp and calls with texts being thoughtfully sent, calls made but words being carefully used but the bridge was built quite fast with frequent calls and messages. It did not take long to know her, at least some of her likes, dislikes etc if not in-depth. With the time difference of 2.5 hours, I had to quit a little bit of sleep time in order to get adjusted to the call timings but overall, it was quite a wonderful initial start. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Meet:

The first meet was something I was working on with December being a month of block leaves for most of the employees and me having taken my share early in November there was a bit of cover up to be done back at workย and hence until January 8th, I had to postpone my first meet with her. December month went across in a jiffy with my parents meeting her and her parents and from the pictures I could say that parents were very happy after the meet. ๐Ÿ™‚ Sometimes, when you see your parents happy, the feelingsย says a lot and we don’t need to think twice about the rest.

January 8th did finally arrive with 4 days of Bengaluru trip planned and this trip was special! The First ever meet ๐Ÿ™‚ Quite a number of questions were being asked internally, how do I react, what should I talk, how should I behave etc etc. and somehow I remember telling myself enroute to Bengaluru to remain calm and go by the flow. My flight landed at approx 12:45am at BIAL, post which I called up my parents informing about the safe arrival and also textedย her about the same. Iย was supposed to meet her and her family next noon but somehow there was a gut feeling that she had come down to pick me up from the airport! I refrained from askingย her the same, but I was constantly ย bombarded with questions about my immigration, luggageย formalitiesย being completed or not which kind of added on to my gut feeling ๐Ÿ™‚

When I did manage to come out, my gut feeling was true and there she was ๐Ÿ™‚ along with her father, sister and brother in law! A “HI” was all that I muttered to say(too too cold in bangalore ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) as somehow it was a totally different feeling of meeting face to face for the first time even though we had conversations for hours together daily until then ๐Ÿ™‚ I was happy, very happy seeing her ๐Ÿ™‚

Warm Welcome to Bengaluru in that Chilly Weather :)
Warm Welcome to Bengaluru in that Chilly Weather ๐Ÿ™‚
They dropped me to my brothers place at Vijayanagar. Casual talks all through with legs being pulled by her sister and brother in law was the highlight of the travel. I managed to speak only a few things directed just to her and the rest of conversation was on general topics. It was a totally unexpected first meet and theย spontaneousย reaction from me was “EXCITED AND NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO” ๐Ÿ™‚ It indeed was a wonderful first meet which will always remain special to me! Thanks to Akka and Bavaji for arranging the same ๐Ÿ™‚

Saturday was a formal meet with her family along with mine followed by lunch which was sumptuous. So many items that, a little of everything would fill up your tummy. Me and my bro being very less eaters, we managed only little of everything ๐Ÿ˜‰

Along with my dad and brother :)

Her Parents, Sister and Brother In Law ๐Ÿ™‚
Then came the first ever bike ride to Majestic as my dad had some shopping to do and finally I had some time to spend with her alone ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ With the lovely Bengaluru traffic, moving at snails pace, it was definitely worth all the time! A dinner at ‘Little Italy’ that night winded up Saturday with the long ride ‘alone’ back home that was a bit chilly. No, I mean it. Very chilly ๐Ÿ™‚
Cousins :)
Cousins ๐Ÿ™‚
Sunday was an all cousins outing, with Omkar Hills and Dodda Alada Mara being the 2 preferred destinations! Omkar hills situated approximately 14kms on Mysore road. Thanks to Hemanth for picking up this place for a short but sweet outing. More than the place of outing, the travel up and down alongside her was very special ๐Ÿ™‚ I was meeting her for the very first time and getting to spend some time together was indeed very much helpful to gel up more. May be due to the constant messages and calls over the past month made the bonding quite good and I did not feel that I am meeting her for the very first time nor did I search for words or topics all through the travel. Thanks to Mannu whoย sacrificedย his bike ride and let me ride all through ๐Ÿ™‚
At Omkar Hills
At Omkar Hills
Monday and Tuesday was specifically dedicated to her! ๐Ÿ™‚ Lunch at Rajadhani followed by long long talks sitting alongside the man-made lake at Orion Mall was really pleasant. Isckon temple visit also was peaceful where I could see some good helpful nature in her. We were returning down post darshan, where we could see a small girl approximately 5 to 6 year old lost and crying badly. She immediately went to the kid, tried to console her and then took her to the security for further announcement to be made. The security official there assured us that the girl is safe and we may proceed but SHE was not so happy to do so. After approximately 10 minutes with a heavy head we went across and during all this while there was this worried look on her face as to what happened to the girl and no matter how much I tried to console her saying the girl would be fine, she just could not get it out of her mind. Just before we left Isckon we managed to meet the same security official who informed us about the girl being reunited with her parents ๐Ÿ™‚ There was huge relief seen on HER face hearing this news. The willingness to help someone in need is what that moved me ๐Ÿ™‚

Orion Mall and then the next day Mantri mall was quite wonderful. Tuesday flew off very very soon with the thought of departure that night looming around ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Akka and Bavaji did come to drop me back again to the airport as I could spend those extra couple of hours again with her ๐Ÿ™‚

All along, the only thought that went through me was that, how quickly life had changed and there was someone beside me who cares for me now a lot who before a month was someone unknown. I amย grateful to malshi to have given me such lovely parents and brother who care for me and love me by supporting me in all ways possible and now one more family added to that with her parents and sister and bavaji, caring equally for me. ๐Ÿ™‚

Those 4 days were one of the most wonderful moments of my life that I would cherish throughout and with marriage being 7 months down the line, this definitely was a meet that was very much needed ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, I always mentioned as “HER” & “SHE” – but here I can happily introduce “Vidya Pai” to you all ๐Ÿ™‚

Malshi and parents blessings have made it possible to find someone who I felt is ideal for me with respect to her nature,ย behaviourย and also care, concern and respect she has towards elders. Mingling with my family and treating them as theirs is one of the most important and noteworthy thing that I admired a lot in her and I am sure there are many more things I am willing to know as and when time progresses ๐Ÿ™‚

:)
๐Ÿ™‚

To this beautiful start – Thank you Vidya for accepting me the way I am and I hope the first meet was equally amazing for you as well! ๐Ÿ™‚

Cheers,
Muki

An Amazing Week that was at Manipal – Heaven on Earth :)

Who doesn’t like the feeling of going home? Which person can contain the excitement of going home to meet your loved ones who mean the world to you? This feeling is absolutely splendid and cannot be described in words. I am happy to have got this feeling recently ๐Ÿ™‚

In an off the topic discussion with my boss, suddenly came the topic of my moms birthday and next thing was that I was granted permission to fly back to India, to Manipal for 10 long days ๐Ÿ™‚

The weeks leading to the travel were so amazing. Excitement was out of bounds with the feeling of being at home with your loved ones only thing in your mind all throughout the day. Finally the day arrived, 4th July, 10pm flight to Bangalore from Singapore.

List of delicacies to gulped down were already decided with mom waiting to prepare those. When you are home, nothing beats the feeling of having lovely mummy made food followed by a super awesome chat about all the neighbors and then a big nap ๐Ÿ™‚

Manipal is splendid during the monsoons and it was a very pleasant weather throughout the week compared to that of Singapore which has terrible heat all day long.

Sanna Polo, Idli with Phanna Chutney ( chutney which has thadka with oil and curry leaf ), tomato omlet, mummy made yummy polo (dosa) , natural ice cream(rain or no rains, who can stop eating their ice creams).

A team lunch with off-shore guys, followed by a family outing to mangalore was absolutely amazing time spent. The new mall which has come up, Forum Fiza is so so huge, that once the shops gets filled up then it surely will be a place to be.

When at home, time flies so so fast that 10 days flew in a jiffy. The build up to the feeling of going home is so amazing and the way it ends, wish it could last same as the build up. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Nonetheless, it was definitely a time well spent on my moms birthday being with her which definitely means more than anything to me ๐Ÿ™‚

Waiting for this feeling to come again soon ๐Ÿ˜‰

Cheers,
Muki

Teachers!

Ever wondered the life of a teacher?

She/He despite of the fact that the students are not his/her own children, treats them like one. Gives in the best of everything so as to bring up the student in a very systematic way. Does things out of the reach so that the students future is good and this is done without EXPECTING ANYTHING IN RETURN.

It’s always said, the second parent of a child is a teacher! Sometimes a kid, doesn’t listen to what his parents tell. But the same thing comes out of the teachers mouth it’s of high priority to the student :). As the student moves to upper grades, new teachers come in and the old ones are memories. But one thing, the teacher no matter how old she/he is, no matter when she/he taught you, she/he will definitely remember your face if not your name whenever you meet them.

The same thing happened to me today and also two weeks back!

First it was an engineering lecturer who had taught me for nearly 3 whole years. Of course, it’s just 3 n half years since I passed out of engineering, but she did remember me :). For a student, it’s always a pleasure when their old lecturers still remember them and it was the same for me. For lecturers, students coming and speaking to them is a proud moment. The happiness you get to see on their face after knowing that their students are doing good is just amazing.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Second one I met was my PUC hindi teacher today morning ๐Ÿ™‚ and it so happened that she got a seat next to me in the bus! A good coincidence I must say. To my surprise she did call me by my name and she recalled all the pranks which I once did during PU days :P. The statement which she told was – ” We teachers remember students, if they are either very brilliant at studies or if they are notorious. You come into the latter part ๐Ÿ˜› “. I was like, all smiles. She remembered each and everything and it was really an amazing thing.

Usually, we tend to meet our old school teachers, but its we students who always refrain from speaking to them! I don’t know why? EGO reason? Must be. We should not expect them to come and speak to us. Its GURU’s blessings which matter the most for any person. No matter how much we shout at the lecturer, how much we irritate them, its their generosity that they forget everything and bless us always. No matter which position you are now, no matter how much you earn, you are still the same old to them. They never judge you by what you are now. ๐Ÿ™‚

So next time you meet your old lecturer, say a HI! Believe me, you will feel great ๐Ÿ™‚

Cheers
Muki
