Huge match, huge expectations!
Old Trafford the venue, Champions League semi final spot at stake and more than anything else Its CHELSEA vs MANCHESTER UNITED!
Manchester United go into this match with a huge morale advantage. Beating Chelsea at the Bridge, the Red Devils will be on top for sure. After all, 9 years streak is what they have ended by beating Chelsea at the Bridge. Its Manchester United’s to lose on Wednesday’s clash between the titans.
Chelsea on the other hand will have to go all guns blazing to win Roman Abrahamovich’s dream of winning the penultimate glory of conquering Europe which was spoilt badly back in 2008 at Moscow where Chelsea lost to Manchester United on penalties. John Terry who just let the cup slip out of Chelsea’s hands back then will surely be aiming to get it right this season and under Carlo Ancellotti, I am sure things can be turned around.
Players to Watch out for:
Huge threat for Chelsea will be from the inform striker Wayne Rooney. He has already given Manchester United the upper hand with a cool headed finish in the first leg of the draw and I am sure, he is wanting to spoil the Chelsea party with another spectacular one.
One more fellow who just has been playing brilliant off late is Ryan Giggs. The veteran provided an excellent pass to Rooney to put Manchester United ahead in the first leg. He is just getting better and better as days are passing by, just like wine!
I still feel Drogba and Torres partnership would just bring down any defense down tumbling. Torres has been moving really well off late but just that he hasn’t been able to score the first goal! Drogba on the other hand has been getting better and better after the really bad patch off late. If these two fire on Wednesday then there is no doubt about the result!
Starting XI ( Probables ):
Manchester United : Wayne Rooney, Chicharito, Ryan Giggs, Michael Carrick, Scholes, Nani, Evra, Rafael, Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, Van de Sar.
Chelsea : Torres, Drogba, Malouda, Lampard, Benayoun, Essien, Ivanovic, Alex, Terry, Cole, Cech.
With Carlo Ancellotti’s job at stake, questions still remain whether Chelsea can beat Manchester United in their own backyard. Last year only Inter Milan were able to go into the Semi final playing their second leg away from home. All odds favoring Manchester United to go through. It is just going to be the match of the season. Winner takes it all, who is almost sure to reach the Finals with Inter having suffered a great loss at home to Schalke.
I feel, Torres will get his first goal for Chelsea. Match going into extra time. Chelsea clinching it in the 2nd half of extra time 🙂
A repeat of the 2008 Finals for sure, but is the result going to be same? Lets wait and watch 🙂
